This charming love story set on the Baltic Coast begins with a doctor-patient relationship.  Rodion, a crusty widower, is the chief surgeon at a sanitorium.  Lidya has had a varied and unhappy life, but unlike Rodian, she has embraced life instead of hiding from it.  Her exuberance and cheerful outlook could be the thing to melt Rodian’s lonely heart.
